Licensed Mental Health Clinician – LAC, LPC, LCSW, LMFT (Remote) New Jersey
Pay: $60,000.00/yr. – $104,000.00/yr. Remote Full-time/Part-time
Position Overview
The Licensed Mental Health Clinician could provide remote outpatient, individual, and group therapy to clients of Sound Advice Counseling and Psychotherapy. Clinical therapy services will be rendered via a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform and include treatment of children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. We seek an energetic and experienced New Jersey licensed psychotherapist to work remotely 20 – 35 hours a week, Monday through Friday, and Sundays (optional). We are closed on Saturdays. Newly hired therapists will begin on a part-time basis, which may expand as success is demonstrated.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform clinical counseling services via telemedicine to clients, as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.
- Timely sign-in to therapy sessions and regular and reliable attendance to weekly in-person or via video conference meetings is required.
- Be properly licensed in the state of New Jersey and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for our clients.
- Respond to patients’ requests for service or calls within one business day whether such requests are made by phone, voicemail, text, e-mail, etc. or through our website.
- Timely complete written records for each client within 24hrs, including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by our practice or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the client.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and trainings as directed by Sound Advice Counseling and Psychotherapy, including weekly group supervision.
- Conduct and regulate counseling services in a professional manner, so as to maintain and increase the good will and reputation of Sound Advice Counseling and Psychotherapy. Be respectful of, cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.
- Respond to in office communication within one business day voicemail, text, e-mail, etc.
- Participate in company events.
- Commitment to two (2) evenings per week
Qualifications and Skills
- Align with Sound Advice Counseling and Psychotherapy mission, vision, and values.
- Must be punctual in reporting to work.
- Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in counseling or social work; and active, unrestricted license (PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LPC, LAC, LMFT) in the State of N.J.
- A copy of the license must be provided upon a job offer acceptance.
- Available to hold a minimum caseload of at least 20 clients sessions per week, provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by Sound Advice Counseling and Psychotherapy.
- Be organized and detail oriented.
- Be a team player.
- Bilingual in English & Spanish is a plus, but not required.
- Be able to work independently on tasks assigned.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Two (2) years post-masters, supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting (one (1) year of supervised clinical work in a graduate, internship program may be substituted for each year of full-time experience).
- Have at least one niche market for counseling services (i.e., children, teens, trauma, anxiety, grief, anger management, Christian counseling, etc.).
- Ability to work (2) evenings per week.
- LACs are welcome to apply as we can provide ACS supervision.
- Malpractice/Liability Insurance is required with at least 1,000,000 (each accident)/3,000,000 (annual aggregate) coverage. (If you don’t have a policy we can assist you in finding one).
- Must have a PC/Laptop and a good internet connection.
